Nick Houghton is a Principal Consultant within the Partnering Performance network.

Nick is also a non Executive Director for a UK based construction consultancy and has held a number of senior human resource management positions in FTSE100 listed companies. His expertise lies primarily in HR Programme Management, Project delivery and building high performing teams, but encompasses both leadership and consultancy roles at senior level within the financial services industry.

Previously, Nick was Head of HR, for Coutts Group IT and prior to his current role was Director of the global HR project management team for the Wealth Management businesses of the RBS group. Responsible for the implementation and delivery of significant HR change programmes and projects covering many thousands of people, Nick has worked in both Europe and Asia.

Nick utilises commercial and consultancy experience to win the licence to operate whilst maintaining a close interest in the development and coaching of teams and colleagues. He has been described as being both ‘strategically astute’ and ‘culturally aware’ and has a reputation for being able to adapt and work within cultural norms in the delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ and commercially viable HR, and people solutions.

He has a passion for quality and a drive to ‘get the job done’ as quickly and efficiently as possible, whilst always maintaining an ‘eye’ for quality and detail. Committed to continuous learning and improvement, Nick studied at the Cranfield University School of Management and participated in the RBS Harvard Business School Executive programme.

Nick is married with two children. His interests include travel (particularly throughout France) and building his collection of fine wines
